First Ever Real Time Northern Lights captured in High Def

This is totally cool. Ronn Murray of Fairbanks, Alaska captured this HD video on January 2nd.  Awesome!

Yeah, I would like to see it as well. I spent a Sept to Jan up in Inuvik, many years ago. Other than one NDP convention years ago at the Whitehorse Ski Chalet, I never saw better lights than in Inuvik. Do you also have any video of the first day of the Sun’s return when it just breaks the horizon? I’ve told so many people of the underwhelmingness of that at 40 below, I would love to have a video record of that brief moment. Thanks.

In the meantime, this is totally cool.

Good to know Tony. We only repeated their claim of first ever. We’d love to see your videos though. Feel free to share them here if you want. Posts are enabled with embed.ly, so to embed a video (YouTube, Vimeo etc) all you have to do is put the URL (not bolded or italicized) on its own line and submit it.

Pretty cool, but I have a problem with the title, and assertion as ‘the first’ – as we have shot the northern lights multiple times in 4K up here in Inuvik for clients and broadcast since 2013. :)
