Yukon Rotary Music Festival

The Rotary Music Festival promotes the appreciation of music by organizing and operating an annual festival that encourages amateur performers and students to participate and perform in a positive environment, leading toward further personal growth and excellence. Highly qualified adjudicators share the benefits of their training and experience in a workshop environment. Entrants come away with new skills and ideas, as well as increased motivation and enthusiasm about their area of interest. They learn through performing and receiving feedback in a non-competitive atmosphere. Our festival serves an estimated 1,200 musicians in the Yukon in the following disciplines: piano, woodwinds, strings, guitar, brass, percussion, vocal, choral, bands and ensembles. Different music styles can be heard from classical to jazz with a hint of pop and fiddle. The festival is working with the dance community to expand the performing and learning opportunities to amateur dancers in 2015. New developments will be shared during the year. We continue to be supported by the Rotary Club of Whitehorse as well as government funding, corporate and private sponsors, and more than 60 volunteers from the community. We appreciate the generous support from everyone who contributes.
