Long recognized as a leader on alto and soprano saxophone, Vancouver-based Campbell Ryga’s career soared on the national scene as a headliner with Moe Koffman and Rob McConnell’s Boss Brass followed by a year studying with George Coleman. Campbell has toured extensively internationally 19 times and over 24 times across Canada, since 1981. He's a regular at the Havana (Cuba) International Jazz Festival and Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London, England. With 72 jazz recordings, 3 Juno Awards and 2 nominations, a Grammy nomination, and 2 Western Canadian Music Awards, Ryga is one of the key players on the thriving West Coast jazz scene. The Campbell Ryga Quartet includes unquestionably top drawer Canadian jazzers Bob Murphy on piano, Miles Hill on bass, and Craig Scott on drums.
