Last year’s Festival of Fools featured Canada's only balkan-klezmer-gypsy-party-punk-super-band, the Lemon Bucket Orkestra at the Yukon Arts Centre, where an elated audience’s only complaint was that more people couldn’t dance.
To remedy this situation, the Yukon Arts Centre and Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre are delighted to embark on a partnership to bring high-quality, thrilling, live dance music to Whitehorse in a place where we ALL can dance. Our first venture together will feature the return of the Lemon Bucket Orkestra for a “Return of Spring” Dance on April 8th at 9:00 PM (doors open at 8:00 PM). The Lemon Bucket Orkestra are winners of Best World Music Group at the 2015 Canadian Folk Music Awards, Best Band in Toronto (Now Magazine), and are currently nominated for a Juno for World Music Album of the Year (Moorka) and will fly to Whitehorse directly from JunoFest in Calgary for a one-night only engagement at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre. We encourage everyone to come on down to KDCC to ring in spring, grab a lemonade from one of our pop-up bars, and dance the night away! Licensed event – ages 19+
